Esteemed Grammy-nominated guitarist, composer and performer TOMMY EMMANUEL has announced the initial dates for his new tour, "Tommy Emmanuel with Very Special Guest Jerry Douglas." The trek will kick off November 29 at the Steifel Theatre for the Performing Arts in Salina, Kansas and run through December 16, stopping in Salt Lake City, Spokane, Las Vegas, Tucson and more (with additional dates to be announced soon). Masters of their craft, Tommy Emmanuel and Jerry Douglas are sure to bring their acclaimed fretboard fire and charm as only these two talented musicians can. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 22. Both artists recently released new studio albums which garnered an abundance of critical praise. EMMANUEL released Accomplice One (January 19 via CGP Sounds and distributed by Thirty Tigers), which features duets with artists such as Jason Isbell, Mark Knopfler, Rodney Crowell, Amanda Shires, and others including Jerry Douglas on "Purple Haze." Rolling Stone's Luke Levenson noted the album, "unites the talents of Emmanuel with those dream guests...for an engaging set of originals and innovative covers" (1/19/18). Elsewhere, Jeff Tamarkin of Relix raved, "this new set allows Emmanuel to display his virtuosity and range more fully over 16 tracks of intimate collaborations" (2/15/18).

DOUGLAS, the 14-time Grammy Award-winner, released his WHAT IF album (August, 2017) via Rounder Records, earning accolades from Rolling Stone, which said, "even after 14 Grammys, Jerry Douglas is still exploring unlikely musical pairings, as evidenced by the soul-and bluegrass-melding rendition of 'Hey Joe...' (8/4/17). American Songwriter backed up the sentiment with Hal Horowitz boasting, "What If is a new beginning...it's a freewheeling, musically sprawling set, perhaps more jazz and rock oriented than most would expect. Douglas writes most of the material yet works up innovative, substantially rearranged versions of 'Hey Joe,' best known by Hendrix's cover but here given a caffeinated backwoods workup, and Tom Waits' '2:19.' The album's centerpiece is its title track, a pensive progressive jazz/bluegrass fusion instrumental that allows the members to stretch out and shows both their creativity and talent" (8/16/18).
