WHAT: This three day songwriting workshop will be led by Tom Paxton, Jackson Emmer, and Daniel Boling. If you are looking to dive deeper into the craft of writing, break out of old habits, or take your songs to the next level - this is the workshop for you.
This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to learn from and visit with one of the few remaining folksinger/songwriter icons from the great folk music boom of the 1960s. Tom was right in the thick of it all and I'm sure we'll hear some great stories about those amazing days -- but mostly we'll talk about the craft of songwriting and share songs with each other and work on songs together.
It sounds great, doesn't it? I can assure you that it is! I attended this workshop last summer when Tom and Jackson led it, and they've invited me back this summer to help lead the retreat with them. Meanwhile, I'm recording an album of more than a dozen songs Tom and I have written together since last summer's retreat! Not sure yet when it will be ready, but sometime this year ... possibly in time for the retreat. Here's hoping!
