Last night, October 14, 2017, at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts in Gilbert, AZ, four friends sat down in a wooded setting on stage around a campfire, with the full moon above, and telling stories and singing songs about Arizona. Jim Pipkin has been writing and singing songs about Arizona for over 20 years. Dolan Ellis has been the official Arizona State Balladeer for over 50 years. Marshall Trimble is the Official Arizona Historian. Wally Bornmann has been telling stories and singing songs around campfires all over Arizona for as long as he can remember. It was a wonderful show. One of my favorite songs was one by Dolan Ellis who sang a song about the Salt River Wild Horses. They ended the night with us all singing "This Land Is Your Land" together. It was a great show hearing these legends of our Arizona history! To check out more shows, go to the Higley Center for Performing Arts website here.
