Emerging Nashville artist Jay Allen released his new single “Blank Stares” this past weekend on Sirius XM’s The Highway. The emotionally-stirring song, with its official video available here, was written by Allen for his mother who is currently battling early onset Alzheimer’s. The song is available now on iTunes with all proceeds forever benefiting Abe’s Garden, a memory care center in Nashville selected by Allen himself.

“It’s a song I wrote for my mother who suffers from early onset Alzheimer’s at the age of only 53. She’s in the final stages and doesn’t have long to live, but I still find hope in the long goodbye,” Allen explains. “My prayer is that this song becomes a mighty tool that ultimately helps end this nightmare disease.”

Allen’s previous single “Sounds Good To Me” was also featured on Sirius XM as a “Highway Find” in September. A song off his 2017 EP, The First Five, radio personality Storme Warren couldn’t help but to bust a move while listening to the feel-good track.

Crediting his mother as the first to introduce him to Country music, Allen’s early influences include Brooks & Dunn, John Michael Montgomery and George Strait among others. She also encouraged him to make the move to Nashville from rural Iowa four years ago to pursue his dream of songwriting.

Earning a publishing and development deal with Sony/ATV, Allen enlisted Edge Artist Management for representation with tour bookings handled through WME. Allen is currently in the studio working on his full-length debut album, with a string of festival shows and high profile opening slots this summer.
