CAROLYN DAWN JOHNSON SETS COURSE FOR NEW MUSIC WITH UNWAVERING SINGLE “ROAD BLOCKS”

EMPOWERING COUNTRY ANTHEM OFFERS EARLY GLIMPSE AT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM COMING IN 2024

AWARD-WINNING SINGER, SONGWRITER, MUSICIAN AND PRODUCER SETS THERE SHE IS FOR 2024 RELEASE

Fan-favorite and CCMA, JUNO, ACM and AMA award-winning Country artist Carolyn Dawn Johnson is full speed ahead towards an artistic renaissance, releasing the unwavering new single “Road Blocks” to all digital service providers.

Written by the acclaimed hitmaker along with Jennifer Lynn Kennard and Oscar Charles, the song arrives as a full throttle anthem of personal empowerment, encouraging listeners to chart their own course (and never look back). Already receiving praise from fans and media alike, Music Row attests it's “Well worth your spins,” as “Road Blocks” hits the Canadian Country airwaves.

With a driving beat, crashing cymbals and the high horsepower attitude of Johnson’s admired vocals – plus endless miles of laid-back electric twang – the up-tempo tune was also produced by Johnson herself, and now marks the start of a new career chapter.

Well-known as an award-winning artist, songwriter and musician who has spent recent years earning recognition as a producer, “Road Blocks” is the first preview of Johnson’s highly anticipated 2024 album, There She Is.

“‘Road Blocks’ is an anthem of empowerment. It gives a glimpse into why I’ve stayed behind-the-scenes for quite some time, singing with some of my favorite artists, producing, writing and being a mom,” shares Johnson. “For me, the road blocks in my life steered me to making some of my own music again. I hope this song inspires strength for others facing challenges as they turn up the volume and sing along.”

With an impressive and storied career in the U.S. and Canada, Johnson broke through in 2001 with her wildly popular debut album Room With a View, and went on to score 15 Top 20 singles and 10 Top 10s in total, along with 17 CCMA Awards and a prestigious JUNO award, plus recognition from both the ACM Awards and AMAs.

Along with her #1 breakout as a songwriter on Chely Wright’s 1999 Country chart-topper, "Single White Female,” Johnson has continued to write engaging tracks impacting the Country mainstream – most recently with a cut set for Chris Stapleton’s upcoming Higher album.

She has also flourished as a touring musician and recording vocalist, appearing on work by the likes of Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay and more, while hitting the road alongside Lambert, McBride and most recently Ashley McBryde.

Stay tuned for more news as Carolyn Dawn Johnson’s next chapter unfolds.
